ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A Santa Fe man says he plans to sue the state because of what he went through when a New Mexico State Police officer fatally shot the woman driving a car in which the man was a passenger.

A notice filed on behalf of 27-year-old Jeremy Munoz says he feared for his own life during a chase and the shooting in which 39-year-old Jeanette Anaya was killed.

A grand jury concluded that Officer Oliver Wilson was justified in the Nov. 7 shooting that followed an attempted traffic stop.

Munoz’s claim notice said he was injured in a collision between cars driven by Anaya and Wilson and that he was detained at gunpoint after the shooting.
