RENO, Nev. (AP) - Hearings are scheduled this week on northern Nevada college campuses where students could be facing higher tuition and fee costs beginning in 2015.
Hearings are scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday at Western Nevada College in Carson City and 1 p.m. at the University of Nevada, Reno’s Joe Crowley Student Union.
Truckee Meadows Community College plans a hearing Feb. 12 at 2 p.m.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (https://tinyurl.com/mbadrqv ) the proposed fee hikes range from about 2 percent to 4 percent, depending on certain classifications. One proposal calls for fee increases of about 4 percent annually for UNR and UNLV undergraduates, peaking at $224 per credit hour in 2018-19.
