ST. LOUIS (AP) - The arrival of another winter storm has forced the Missouri Department of Education to push back by one day a public hearing in St. Louis on unaccredited school districts.
The hearing scheduled for Tuesday at the University of Missouri-St. Louis will now begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Missouri-St. Louis’ JC Penney Conference Center.
The hearing is to get public feedback on plans for transferring from unaccredited school districts in Missouri. The department plans to create a statewide plan for support and intervention in unaccredited schools.
The Normandy and Riverview Gardens districts in St. Louis County are among the state’s three unaccredited school systems.
A similar hearing was last week in Kansas City. Other hearings are later this week in Springfield and Sikeston.
