ERIE, Pa. (AP) - Fire investigators in northwest Pennsylvania are searching for the cause of a blaze in an apartment complex that left a 4-year-old girl dead.

Officials in Erie County say the flames were reported just before 9:30 a.m. Monday in two Erie buildings that housed four apartments and a small grocery store.

The Erie Times-News (https://bit.ly/1kK9Cs9 ) reports that Coroner Lyell Cook identified the victim as Fato Abdi, who lived in one of the units with her parents and several siblings.

Erie firefighters spend more than four hours working to bring the flames under control.

Andy Zimmerman, Erie’s manager of code enforcement, said the buildings would be torn down due to safety reasons.
