ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A woman suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol was arrested after trying to elude officers at her home, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Natasha Bowers, 36, was arrested early Sunday, KTUU-TV reported (https://is.gd/tMJPEA).

She faces charges of driving under the influence, failure to stop at a peace officer’s direction, resisting arrest and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Troopers said officers followed Bowers in her vehicle, and shortly after 1:30 a.m., tried to make a traffic stop. She continued driving, and officers followed her to her home, troopers said.

Bowers drove into her garage and tried to lower the garage door, troopers said, but officers were able to enter the garage.

The officers determined Bowers had been driving impaired, troopers said. Bowers attempted to elude officers again but was taken into custody, troopers said. She refused to provide a breath sample, they said.

Bowers was taken to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility, with bail set at $2,000. She was freed on bond later Sunday.

An email seeking comment from her Monday morning was not immediately returned.
