QUINCY, Ill. (AP) - Quincy University in western Illinois is using grant money to make security improvements.
The Quincy Herald-Whig reports Monday (https://bit.ly/LIx9xk) that the university has added 21 security cameras to its main campus building. The school also added key card access to the exterior doors of Francis Hall. The building previously didn’t have security cameras. Those changes are part of the project’s first phase. The second phase will include upgrades to classroom doors over the summer.
The school is using about $200,000 for the project. About $30,000 is coming from the school and $170,000 from the Marion Gardner Jackson Charitable Trust.
School officials say security already was improved in other campus building when they were renovated.
