OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A $17 million contract to replace a bridge across the Grand River is one of several items that will be considered by the Oklahoma Transportation Commission.

The commission will decide whether to award the contract for the new State Highway 51 bridge during its regular meeting on Monday. The existing bridge is located between Wagoner and Cherokee counties in northeast Oklahoma and opened in 1949.

The commission is also expected to consider contracts for two projects in Tulsa County, and two others in the Oklahoma City area.

New Oklahoma Department of Transportation Executive Director Mike Patterson is also expected to brief the commission on Oklahoma’s system of state-owned rail lines.
