Ohio man pleads guilty to possession of child porn

ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - An Ohio man has pleaded guilty in federal court in Alexandria, La., to possessing child pornography in an Alexandria hotel.

U.S. Attorney Stephanie A. Finley says 40-year-old Dwayne Dunlavy, of Ravenna, Ohio, pleaded guilty Thursday before U.S. District Judge Dee D. Drell.

The Town Talk reports (https://townta.lk/LGDyJi ) evidence presented at the guilty plea shows that in December 2011, investigators began looking for a suspect who was making child pornography available on file-sharing networks. One individual was found to be at an Alexandria hotel using the hotel’s Wi-Fi network to distribute child pornography.

Dunlavy faces 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, forfeiture and a lifetime of supervised release. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Sentencing is set for April 25.
