OBERLIN, La. (AP) - State police say an Oberlin woman died in a single-vehicle accident on La. Highway 26 east of Oberlin.
The victim was identified as 40-year-old Kimberly Lovejoy.
Troopers say Lovejoy was westbound on Highway 26 at a high rate of speed about 8:45 p.m. Friday when she lost control of the vehicle in a curve. Authorities say the vehicle went off the highway and struck a ditch embankment, causing it to flip repeatedly before coming to rest.
Police say Lovejoy, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Allen Parish Coroner’s Office.
