The Crook County sheriff’s office says deputies who responded to the scene late Saturday night found the vehicle had rolled over on top of the victim, 22-year-old Tyler Robert Pierce of Prineville, who died at the scene.
The operator of the ATV, 31-year-old Mason Edward Stafford of Prineville, was booked into the Crook County Jail on a manslaughter charge.
