CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of state employee who died while working near a Chandler freeway.

Chandler police say the death of 57-year-old Ronald Griffin isn’t considered suspicious.

But because Griffin was alone at the time Friday, police say they awaiting the cause of death from the Maricopa Medical Examiner’s Office.



Police say Griffin worked for the Arizona Department of Transportation and was cleaning out an area of a runoff canal near the San Tan Freeway.

Co-workers found his body about 3 p.m. Friday.
