PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Gas prices in Rhode Island fell 4 cents from last week to an average of $3.44 a gallon.
AAA Southern New England released its new weekly price survey on Monday.
Prices locally for a gallon of self-serve regular are down 9 cents from a month ago. The current price is still 16 cents higher than the national per-gallon average of $3.28.
Rhode Islanders were paying 22 cents more on average a year ago this week.
The survey found a 28-cent range in prices, from a low of $3.30 a gallon to a high of $3.58.
