ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) - Police in Rockford are investigating an apparent double shooting that left one man dead and another severely injured.

The Rockford Register Star (https://bit.ly/1djZ3FV ) reports that the police department says that the body of a 26-year-old Boone County man was found shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday in a parking lot after police responded to a report that shots had been fired.

Police say that another man - a 25-year-old resident of Belvidere - arrived at an area hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds.



Police declined to immediately provide the names of the two men or any other information about the shootings.
