CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. (AP) - A fire has destroyed a clubhouse and two other buildings at an Eastern Panhandle golf course.

The Journal (https://bit.ly/1mNrSC0) reports no one was injured in the fire Friday morning at Locust Hill Golf Course in Charles Town.

Jefferson County emergency services deputy director Ed Hannon says the fire appeared to have started in the clubhouse and spread to a building where chemicals used to maintain the golf course were stored. Hannon says crews were working to prevent the chemicals from reaching any streams.

The West Virginia Golf Association says golf carts that were filled with gasoline exploded as the fire reached them. A total of 160 golf carts were destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
