NEW ULM, Minn. (AP) - New Ulm police say a 50-year-old woman has died after a fire in her apartment house.

Darcy Mary Moldan had been rescued from her second-floor apartment and taken to the New Ulm Medical Center. But a police statement says Moldan later died of her injuries.

The Journal of New Ulm (https://bit.ly/NEyB4D ) reports four other tenants escaped the building.

Firefighters responded to the call about 9:30 p.m. Thursday. Smoke billowed from the building as firefighters battled to bring the fire under control in subzero temperatures.
