BAKERSFIELD, Vt. (AP) - Vermont police say a fire in Bakersfield destroyed a home and killed three pets.

Police say the Bakersfield Fire Department responded to a call on Thursday evening and the house could not be saved. Police say there were no injuries but three pets died in the fire, and the damages are estimated to be more than $175,000.

According to police the exact cause of the fire is being investigating but at this time, it is not considered suspicious.
