GREENFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Vermont man faces motor vehicle homicide and drunken driving charges in connection with an October crash in Rowe, Mass., that killed a teenage passenger.

Massachusetts authorities say 43-year-old Timothy Baltzer of Wilmington, Vt., is scheduled to be arraigned next week.

Police say Baltzer’s blood-alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit to drive and he was going too fast when his pickup truck flipped on its roof and struck a tree.

The Recorder of Greenfield (https://bit.ly/MBqvcb ) reports that 18-year-old Nicholas Boyd, of Whitingham, Vt., died. A 33-year-old passenger was injured.

Police say the men were looking for a place to go off-roading and Boyd was supposed to be driving because he was sober.

Baltzer’s lawyer had no comment.

Rowe is across the state line from Vermont.
