TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson woman acquitted of manslaughter in a fatal 2012 rollover has been sentenced to probation on drug charges.

The Arizona Daily Star reported (https://bit.ly/1d3ddQ8) that Joan Elaine Laidlaw was sentenced to three years’ probation Friday.

She was convicted in January for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and driving with an illegal drug in her body.

Laidlaw was accused of manslaughter in connection with the October 2012 death of 18-year-old Armando Daniel Hernandez.

A Pima County Superior Court jury found her not guilty.

During the trial, prosecutors argued that Laidlaw was under the influence of drugs, which caused her to run into a dirt embankment and roll her car.
