WHITEHALL, Ohio (AP) - Police in a central Ohio suburb say a 4-year-old boy died when he apparently pulled a kitchen stove on top of himself.

Whitehall police and the county coroner identified the child in the Thursday afternoon accident as Carlos Mullins Jr. Whitehall is a Columbus suburb.

The Columbus Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1hHb8Jm ) reports that the child was pronounced dead at the apartment where the accident occurred around 2 p.m. Police at first thought the death was suspicious, but evidence seemed to indicate the boy died as a result of an accident with the stove.

The boy was home with his mother and a sibling at the time.

Police are still investigating and will wait for a coroner’s report before making a final ruling in the case.
