RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - Fremont County Sheriff Skip Hornecker says he will see a fourth term.

The Riverton Ranger reported Friday (https://bit.ly/1hZrKk0) that Hornecker decided to make his announcement well ahead of a May filing deadline.

No one else has announced a run for the post.

The 63-year-old Hornecker has been sheriff since 2003. He’s spent time as a deputy and has taught at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy.

Hornecker cited several cold murder cases investigated over the past year. Two brothers were arrested and convicted in connection with the 2006 disappearance of Tad Paul Barnson, whose remains were found east of Riverton in March 2013.
