KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) - Authorities say a burglary suspect was captured after a standoff of several hours ended Thursday night near Klamath Falls.

Sheriff Frank Skrah tells KOBI-TV (https://bit.ly/1obbYQw) the suspect has been responsible for at least five burglaries and three stolen vehicles.

Skrah says that in one case Thursday, 22-year-old Silas Atchley of Chiloquin exchanged gunfire with men chasing him from a home where he’d stolen guns.

Officers from agencies in the region joined the chase. It eventually led to a mobile home at Olene, a community a few miles east of Klamath Falls.

Skrah says Atchley hid under tarps beneath the home, but with the help of a police dog, officers took him into custody.
