DENVER (AP) - A 30-year-old woman who pleaded guilty to a fatal hit-and-run collision in Denver has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, the maximum term possible under a plea agreement.

Latoya Nelson collapsed when the judge announced the sentence in Denver District Court Thursday.

Prosecutors say 85-year-old Charlie Herrera was fatally injured in the collision on March 27. They say Nelson was driving the other car and fled after the crash.

She pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
