ATTICA, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a 54-year-old woman has died after her car spun out of control on a snow-covered western New York road and collided with another vehicle.
Troopers say Terry O’Neill of Varysburg was driving on Route 98 around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday when she lost control of her car on a stretch of road partially covered by wind-blown snow in the Wyoming County town of Attica, 30 miles east of Buffalo.
Police say her car crossed into on-coming traffic and was broadsided by a vehicle driven by an 88-year-old man from Akron.
Troopers say O’Neill was taken to Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw, where she died about 90 minutes after the crash.
The other driver was taken by helicopter to a Buffalo hospital. Police say his injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening.
