MORGAN HILL, Calif. (AP) - Southbound Highway 101 in the Morgan Hill area has opened after a crash involving a car and oil tanker shut down a section of the freeway.

Television news footage showed traffic getting by in one lane around 9 a.m. Thursday. The crash occurred about eight hours earlier and shut down all southbound lanes.

California Highway Patrol Officer Tyler Mason tells KTVU-TV an unknown amount of oil from the truck spilled into a nearby drain. Homes nearby were also evacuated.
