GROTON, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say two adults are facing charges after they allegedly coerced a child to smoke marijuana.

Authorities say Groton residents Bobbi Leigh Borek and Robert Spink forced the 12-year-old to smoke pot and cigarettes and chew tobacco several times.

The alleged incidents occurred between December 2012, when the child was 11, and December 2013.

State police say they weren’t notified of the allegations until this month.

Borek and Spink are scheduled to appear in Caledonia Superior Court on March 10 on charges of dispensing marijuana to minors, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and reckless endangerment.

It’s unclear if they have attorneys.
