CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - The North Carolina Press Association has selected new officers for 2014-15.
Regina Howard-Glaspie, circulation director of the News & Record in Greensboro, will be the next president of the North Carolina Press Association/Press Services Board of Directors and Pat Taylor, advertising director of The Pilot of Southern Pines, was elected vice president. The officers were announced at the association’s annual meeting on Thursday.
Howard-Glaspie is the association’s vice president and had previously served as secretary-treasurer of the association. She has been circulation director for the News & Record since 2006. Her term as president will begin Aug. 1.
Taylor is currently secretary-treasurer of North Carolina Press Services and he was previously president of the Association of Community Newspapers.
Also during the annual meeting, Bart Adams, editor and publisher of The Daily Record in Dunn, Todd Allen, publisher of The Wake Weekly in Wake Forest and Bill Moss, editor and publisher of the Hendersonville Lightning, were elected to three year terms on the board of directors. Dale Gowing, editor of the Mooresville Tribune, was elected to a one-year term to fill a vacancy on the boards
Diane Winnemuller, publisher of The Courier-Tribune in Asheboro, was elected president of the Associated Dailies of North Carolina and Keith Coleman, general manager and advertising manager for The News of Orange County, was chosen as president of the Association of Community Newspapers.
