HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) - Police in New Jersey are trying to determine whether a man charged with dealing drugs may be connected to unsolved murders of children.

Charles T. Williams was one of 135 people arrested earlier this week in a Hackensack drug sweep. Police say he sold heroin and oxycodone.

Police tell The Record newspaper (https://bit.ly/1cbcIWh ) that they are tracing where he traveled to see if he might be connected to any slayings.

The 62-year-old has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly stabbing a 24-year-old man in the chest on Feb. 6.

He served 13 years in Virginia for killing two boys as a teenager and has been convicted of child molestation in New Jersey.

Williams is being held in the Bergen County Jail on a bail of $750,000.
