FLINT, Mich. (AP) - A Flint-area man has been sentenced to life in prison in the 2012 death of his 3-month-old son.

The Flint Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1lneHcN ) a judge on Wednesday sentenced 24-year-old Jeramy Wagner of Genesee County’s Montrose Township. Wagner earlier pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and first-degree child abuse, admitting that he punched Andrew Wagner in the head on Oct. 15, 2012.

He told the court: “This is the single-most deviant act I’ve ever committed.”

The boy was pronounced dead on arrival that day at Hurley Medical Center. An autopsy determined the child died of a blow to the head.

Jeramy Wagner was jailed after a three-hour standoff several days later with police at his home. Under the sentence, he’ll be eligible for parole in 15 years.
