POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) - A cement slab more than 100 years old that forms the letter “I’’ on a hill above Idaho State University will be removed.

School officials announced Wednesday that erosion has led to concerns the cement could break up with large slabs sliding down Red Hill.

School spokesman Phil Moessner tells KIFI-TV (https://bit.ly/1hs7ofY) that the only reasonable approach is to remove the slab and build a berm.

A committee of students, former students, community members and school officials are looking at how to replace the letter.
