DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - Leaders of businesses and local organizations in the Dothan area have been taking advantage of free Chinese language and culture classes as the region prepares to host the U.S.-China Manufacturing Symposium.

The Dothan Eagle (https://bit.ly/1fX9fWp ) reports the classes being held at Troy University are meant to help local leaders who are looking to establish relationships with Chinese businessmen when they visit the symposium in late March.

The courses were presented by the university’s Confucius Institute and concluded Thursday. Associate Provost for Academic Support Lee Vardman Jr. says the classes were meant to help Chinese visitors feel comfortable when they visit the area.

Troy University’s Dothan campus will continue offering Chinese language courses between March and May.
