TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - Officials of the Natchez Trace Parkway say motorists should expect to see smoke Friday as a controlled burn of brush is done near the parkway commission’s Tupelo headquarters.

WTVA-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1jE9qum ) smoke warning signs will be posted along the parkway.

Officials say drivers should use caution and watch for park rangers, firefighters and equipment along the roadway and mow line.



Controlled burns are used to manage forest and grasslands growth along the parkway.
