VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - Bond has been set at $450,000 for a Vicksburg man arrested in the death of a 70-year-old relative.
Caleb Erves is charged with first-degree murder in the incident that occurred Sunday. He appeared in city court on Monday when bond was set.
Vicksburg police Lt. Sandra Williams tells The Vicksburg Post (https://bit.ly/1dvbrUG ) says that Emanuel Erves died after being pushed down the stairs of a boarding house. Williams says the two men were arguing at the time.
Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey says the elder Erves died of trauma from the fall.
Erves is being held at the Issaquena County Correctional Facility.
Police say the two men are related but have not said how.
