PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a man is accused of trying to trying to kidnap a woman in Phoenix by taking control of her vehicle after a collision.

Maricopa County court documents show 23-year-old Lorenzo Antonio Aguilar Saenz is being held on suspicion of assault and attempted kidnapping.

Phoenix police say a witness reported seeing one vehicle aggressively pursuing another Saturday and then swerve in front of the car the victim was driving.

Other witnesses say Saenz got out of his vehicle, pulled open the driver’s door to the woman’s car and started pushing her into the passenger seat as she yelled for help.

Police later stopped Saenz, who denied trying to kidnap the woman. He says he only wanted to speak to her because they had been involved in a collision.
