NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Newark Police say a man disarmed a would-be robber, who fled without money or his weapon.

It happened about 12:50 p.m. Tuesday on East Main Street. Police say a man was walking away from an ATM when he was approached from behind.

Police say the suspect showed a handgun and demanded the man’s property. The man grabbed the suspect’s gun and disarmed him during a struggle.



The suspect fled. The weapon was a BB gun.

The man sustained minor abrasions to his hands.
