ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (AP) - A Kanawha County woman has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of her mother.
Media outlets report that police arrested 36-year-old Jessie Lee Woods on Monday. The arrest came a day after investigators found 59-year-old Eva Linda Wood’s body in a shed behind her house near St. Albans.
Jessie Woods is being held at the South Central Regional Jail without bond following her arraignment Monday in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
Neighbors reported Eva Woods missing on Saturday.
Kanawha County sheriff’s Cpl. Brian Humphreys said detectives obtained a search warrant Sunday after receiving anonymous tips and conducting interviews.
