FOREST LAKE, Minn. (AP) - Time and snow have taken their toll on a school bus garage in east-central Minnesota.

Forest Lake Area Schools closed its bus garage this week because of structural concerns.

School district spokesman Ross Bennett says the pole barn was built in 1961 and has broken beams as well an accumulation of snow and ice on top.

The structure was used to house 25 of the district’s fleet of more than 100 vehicles. The buses have been moved and the building cleared out.

Insurance adjustors were inspecting the building Tuesday. School officials expect the building will be torn down and rebuilt.

The sprawling district about 30 miles northeast of Minneapolis has more than 6,600 students in early education through 12th grade.
