ARANSAS PASS, Texas (AP) - A 33-year-old South Texas man is held on $10,000 bond after authorities say he was under the influence of alcohol while handling a gun and shot and wounded his 4-year-old son.
Aransas Pass police arrested Tommy Crews Sunday afternoon on a felony charge of suspicion of injury to a child.
Authorities were called to the Crews home on Feb. 14 when they found the child with a gunshot wound to his chest. Police said the child was alert and able to communicate with them when they arrived.
Chief Eric Blanchard tells the Corpus Christi Caller-Times (https://bit.ly/1hh6W4) officers also found drug paraphernalia at the home.
He says Crews told authorities he was “playing around” with his firearm.
