PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Firefighters knocked down two fires overnight at vacant buildings in northeast Portland.

One fire at 3:45 a.m. Monday burned a vacant house next door to an apartment building that burned last August in a five-alarm arson that has not been solved.

KATU reports (https://bit.ly/1c1gIIP ) the second Monday morning fire broke out a short time later at an abandoned building about four blocks away. Firefighters extinguished a fire in a doorway.



Investigators have not said whether the fires are related. No injuries reported.
