NEWBURGH, N.Y. (AP) - Two women are dead and a man is hospitalized with stab wounds after a dispute among friends turned violent in the Hudson Valley.

Newburgh Town Police Chief Michael Clancy tells the Middletown Times Herald-Record (https://bit.ly/1jZSWvT ) that officers got a 911 call shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday when passers-by saw 60-year-old Bruce Montanya lying outside covered with blood.

Montanya was listed in critical condition Sunday at Westchester Medical Center with stab wounds.

Police found 78-year-old Bertha Williams dead of stab wounds on the steps of the Newburgh address where Montanya was found. They found 36-year-old Rebecca Winters dead of gunshot wounds inside the trailer next door.

Police say Winters, who lived on a nearby road, had gone to the trailer where Williams and Montanya lived and a dispute took place.
