PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Preparations are underway in Aroostook County for a major biathlon event.
2014 IBU Youth Junior World Biathlon Championships kick off next weekend at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle.
WAGM-TV says tents are being erected to accommodate spectators and volunteers. The first competition kicks off on Friday.
The International Biathlon Union sponsors the event, which features athletes skiing and shooting at targets.
