MANDEVILLE, La. (AP) - The St. Tammany Parish government says about 3½ miles of the Tammany Trace will be closed next week to improve the surface.

A news release says the section from Log Cabin Road in Mandeville to Powell Road in Lacombe will be closed starting Monday, for about a week.

In addition, about three days of asphalt work will begin Wednesday on the Trace between Dove Park Road in Mandeville and the Claiborne Hill overpass in Covington.

That stretch will remain open but people using the Trace will be flagged around the work.

The parish is paying Boh Brothers Construction about $103,700 for the work.
