JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - A 17-year-old student is suspected of threatening a shooting at Jackson Hole High School.

The teen was arrested Thursday after a threat that a shooting would occur sometime soon was posted at the school, the Jackson Hole Daily (https://bit.ly/1go0git ) reported. The message was discovered just before noon.

Teton County undersheriff Bob Gilliam said the arrested teen was connected to the spot where the threat was left.

“We interviewed him, interrogated him,” he said at a press conference Thursday evening. “The student has provided detectives with very specific information about the threat. Therefore we believe we have the person in custody who made the threat.”

However, Gilliam said just because the student is in custody doesn’t mean he is guilty.

Security has been tightened at all schools in Teton County Friday, with both uniformed and plain clothes police officers and sheriff’s deputies on duty there.

“You may or not see us but we will be there,” Gilliam said.

Students at both Jackson Hole High School and Summit High School will have to stay on campus for lunch.
