ERIE, Pa. (AP) - Police in northwestern Pennsylvania have been searching for a driver who didn’t stop after hitting a pedestrian who has since died.

The Erie Times-News (https://bit.ly/1edsVV1 ) reports the victim, a 51-year-old man, died Friday morning at UPMC Hamot hospital.

Erie police and the Erie County coroner have yet to release the man’s name, but say he was fatally injured when he was hit by a car while crossing the street about 7:15 p.m. Thursday.

Police were looking for a sedan, possibly gold-colored, that might have damage to its front end, windshield or roof.
