HOUSTON (AP) - A man convicted in the fatal shooting of a Harris County fast food restaurant manager during a robbery has been sentenced to death.

A Harris County jury on Thursday sentenced 47-year-old George Curry to death in the slaying of 19-year-old Edward Virappen, who was killed during a robbery at Popeye’s Chicken in May 2009.

A Crime Stoppers tip led to Curry’s arrest about two months later. Eyewitnesses then identified Curry from a photo lineup, and he was arrested at his home.
