WAYLAND SPRINGS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A 72-year-old driver trying to avoid a crash in bad weather has died after his car collided with a charter bus on U.S. 131 in western Michigan.

The victim was identified as David Yettaw of Portage, near Kalamazoo. State police say there were no injuries among the two dozen people aboard the bus.

The crash occurred in Wayland Springs Township in Allegan County.

Sgt. David Caswell says the weather was terrible at the time, with blowing snow making driving a risky venture. He says it was one of many wrecks on U.S. 131 between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo.
