ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A man is in custody in the stabbings early Friday morning of two adults and a 10-year-old girl at a home in the Albuquerque area.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department says deputes apprehended 43-year-old Leroy Lindsay after he fled from a vehicle that deputies had stopped near the home where the stabbings occurred.

Those wounded include the 10-year-old girl. She’s hospitalized in critical condition with stab wounds to her head and face.



Her 27-year-old mother also is being treated for multiple stab wounds, as is a 35-year-old man who was a guest in the home.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, Lindsay is being booked into jail on suspicion of child abuse with great bodily harm, attempts to commit a felony, aggravated battery and kidnapping.
