BENTON, Ill. (AP) - Two men accused in a southern Illinois man’s beating death have pleaded not guilty.

WSIL-TV (https://bit.ly/MexhnY) reports that 28-year-old Timothy Curwick of West Frankfort and 18-year-old Dustin Mandrell of Christopher entered the not-guilty pleas Wednesday during court appearances in Franklin County.

Each man is charged with involuntary manslaughter and aggravated battery related to the last month’s alleged attack on Scott Maceri.



They’re accused of fatally beating, kicking and choking Maceri. The Christopher man was found unresponsive at his girlfriend’s apartment, and he later died.
