MOORE, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Insurance Department is hosting a tax tips forum this week to help survivors of last year’s tornadoes.
Insurance Commissioner John Doak is scheduled to host the event Thursday at the Moore Public Library. It’s intended to help survivors of the 2013 tornadoes with their insurance claims and informing them of important tax information - including possible deductions.
The forum is co-hosted by the library, which requests that attendees register by calling (405) 793-4349.
On May 20, 2013, an EF5 tornado hit Moore, causing 25 people to be killed, hundreds to be injured and left more than 1,000 homes and businesses destroyed or damaged.
