MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A summary of action in the Alabama Legislature on Thursday, the 16th meeting day of the regular session:

HOUSE:

- Approved a proposed constitutional amendment authorizing the display of the Ten Commandments at schools and state buildings. Goes to Senate.



- Approved a bill clarifying that prepaid calling cards are subject to state sales tax. Goes to Senate.

SENATE:

- Gave final approval to a bill to regulate tanning beds, including requiring teens to get parental permission to tan. Goes to governor.

-Gave final approval to a bill ending the Public Service Commission’s authority to handle consumers’ complaints about landline phones. Goes to governor.

-Approved a bill requiring hospital to give new parents information about pertussis when they take their babies home. Goes to House.

- House meets at 1 p.m. Tuesday and Senate at 2 p.m.
