LOVINGSTON, Va. (AP) - The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles has suspended operations at its select office in Lovingston while it reviews the facility’s policies and procedures.

The department says the office will be closed for the indefinite future.

Department spokeswoman Pam Gohen tells The Nelson County Times (https://bit.ly/1ctfQdv) that a standard review identified some potential policy and procedure inconsistencies.

Gohen says these policies and procedures are being further reviewed to determine if any new controls are needed.

The department contracts with a business operator in Lovingston, Paula Collins, to provide select services at the office. Collins says she can’t comment on the review.

Customers can use other offices in Charlottesville, Waynesboro and Amherst or conduct business online at www.dmvNOW.com .
